The widget configured without post date, custom fields and custom taxonomies

This is the Quick Post Widget functioning on a site. Out of the many options only categories, the Visual Editor and tags are configured visible here. By the way, the category selection is configured as a droplist. If you want to be able to select more than one category, you can configure it to show as a checklist.

Apart from those you can choose to configure the excerpt, post date, custom fields and custom taxonomies.

By clicking the Visual Editor button a window pops up to let you visually edit you post. You can even add and upload media (clips, images, etc.) to the post without going into the backend of your site.

Using the visual editor is optional and the button can be hidden. Without the visual editor just type a title and some content, optionaly choose a category and hit the Post button.
